TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena in Winter 2026

TGL expands with WTGL, launching a new arena league for LPGA players starting late 2026.

The idea had been in the air for some time, and now it’s official: TGL is getting a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed during a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL is entering its next phase, and this time, it’s the women’s turn.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What has worked for the men will now be applied to women’s golf. The format features two teams, two hours, one match, played in a high-tech setup combining simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The audience in the arena sees every shot live, as do viewers at home on TV. Microphones are used continuously to emphasize personality, not just performance, according to McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new WTGL is more than just an additional competition platform. The TGL has demonstrated that the arena format attracts new audiences who often only marginally follow traditional tournament golf. Over 40 percent of fans in the first season were aged between 18 and 49, many without prior engagement with golf. This reach is expected to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, who took office in summer 2025, views the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will get to know the players better and experience their stories beyond the scorecard. “We want to create closeness, trust, and put our athletes in the spotlight,” said Kessler. Interest is strong: many top female players have already shown enthusiasm, and some have visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
