LIV Golf Promotions 2026: New Opportunities for Kieffer, Bachem & Co.

Several German-speaking pros compete for three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 at the Florida Promotions.

From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida, bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The path is a four-round stroke play event with a new cut each day and fresh opportunities. Players making it to the weekend will compete for a $1.5 million total purse and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 are awarded, including guaranteed starts in all 13 events, while ten others earn starts in the International Series.

LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Entry into the League?

The field features tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking players see this event as a genuine opportunity and perhaps the start of a new chapter.

Max Kieffer Approaches the Next Chapter

For Max Kieffer, this event may be his most important appearance since his victory on the DP World Tour in 2022. After 13 years on Europe’s top tier, he lost his tour card. The 2025 season did not go as planned; Kieffer slipped in the rankings and missed Q-School. Now, it’s LIV Golf. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and a determined mindset, stating recently, ‘We’re not done yet.’ Florida will reveal how far his comeback path truly is.

Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Each with Their Own Story

Dominic Foos made his mark in 2025 with a victory on the Asian Tour. His consistent play and international experience paved his way into the promotions, and now he aims for more. For the 28-year-old, advancing to the LIV Golf League would represent a significant rise and a spotlight on the tour.

Nick Bachem had a tough 2025 season due to injury, form issues, and finishing last at Q-School. Yet those who know the 26-year-old understand he does not give up quickly. He has proven capable of winning at the top level. Similarly, Austrian Matthias Schwab missed the final round at Q-School, losing a realistic chance at a tour card. After years on the PGA and DP World Tour, he is seeking a new path that LIV Golf might provide. Maximilian Rottluff takes a unique perspective on the LIV Golf Promotions, having qualified last year through this very tournament for the Asian Tour’s International Series.

Familiar Names and Open Chapters at LIV Golf

The international field also includes several well-known players from global professional golf, such as Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood (England) and five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France). Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), who ranked among the top three in the International Series in 2025, and Pablo Ereno (Spain), formerly in the top ten of the amateur world rankings, are also competing.
