2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season comes to an end. We look back on the greatest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to look back. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many more highlights, there is much to recall from this year. Often, the individual shots leading to these successes are overlooked, even though they can be as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year, too, featured legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came on the 15th hole at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot drifted slightly left, leaving him with a tree between himself and the green on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played conservatively to secure par, McIlroy took a huge risk and hit a tremendous draw towards the green, landing the ball just next to the pin. This shot not only demonstrated the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his relentless determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the most challenging golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par already gives a chance at the title. Patrick Reed’s shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was thus incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for the second shot and holed it in from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
