2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Golf Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year – a unique recap of 2025.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Rarely do people focus on the individual shots that led to these successes, yet the shots can be as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year, once again, there were legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s 15th Hole at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year occurred at the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would have opted to play it safe and settle for par, McIlroy took a huge risk and hit a massive draw toward the green, landing the ball just beside the flag. A shot demonstrating not only his skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open often requires a round under par to compete for the title. Patrick Reed’s incredible shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was truly remarkable. On the 568-meter par-5, he used a fairway wood for his second shot from 261 meters and holed an albatross. This was only the fourth in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
