2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is drawing to a close. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and reminisce about the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season ends, it’s time to look back. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Often, the shots leading to these successes are as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again brought legendary shots that both players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th Hole at the Masters

Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came this spring at the Masters’ 15th hole. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this Par 5. While most players would have aimed for a safer position to secure par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting a massive draw toward the green, landing the ball just beside the flag. This shot not only showcased the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his relentless determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with an Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the world and the US Open a tournament where even a round under par can contend for the title. The fourth hole of the 2025 US Open was especially remarkable as Patrick Reed hit his fairway wood 261 meters on the Par 5 568-meter-long hole, holing it for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
