Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will start its 2026 season with an expanded field. The league will feature 57 players, up from previous smaller numbers. These players will compete across 13 teams, each composed of four players. Additionally, five wildcard players will participate independently from the teams but are guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct starting spots for the 2026 season will be awarded, an increase from the previous two qualifications available through this format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This event serves as the main qualifying tournament and will be played as a 72-hole stroke play event using a special tiered scoring system with multiple score resets to keep competition dynamic.
On the first day, the top 20 players including ties advance to day two, after which scores are reset. The field is supplemented by automatically qualified players for day two, with again the top 20 and ties advancing to the next round.
Before day three, scores are reset once more. The final ranking after a 36-hole competition spanning days three and four determines the ultimate placement. The top three players earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full playing privileges for the 2026 International Series.
