The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and recall the unique events of 2025 – the year in review.
As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to remember from this year. Often, the individual shots leading to these successes are overlooked, yet they are as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year once again delivered legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot at the 15th Hole at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par 5. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure par, McIlroy risked it all with a massive draw aiming directly at the green, landing the ball just beside the flag. This shot showcased not only McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses globally, and the US Open is a tournament where just one under-par round can contend for the title. Patrick Reed’s shot at the fourth hole during the 2025 US Open was incredible. On the 568-meter par-5 hole, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
