The 2025 season comes to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and recall the unique events of 2025 – the year in review.
As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory to Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Often, it is not the individual shots leading to these successes that are recalled, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year once again delivered legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year came this year at hole 15 of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His drive went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the hole before his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would have used this shot to improve position and aim for par, McIlroy took full risk with a huge draw toward the green, landing the ball just near the flag. A shot that not only demonstrated McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide and the US Open as a tournament where a round under par already gives a chance to win. Patrick Reed’s shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was all the more incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood on the second shot and aced the hole from 261 meters. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
