2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season draws to a close. We look back at the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.

As the 2025 season ends, it is time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievement, and many more highlights, there is plenty to remember this year. Often, the individual shots behind these successes go unnoticed, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again offered legendary shots that both players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th Hole at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving the Northern Irishman a tree between him and the hole for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players might have played it safe to secure par, McIlroy boldly swung with full risk and a massive draw toward the green, placing the ball just beside the pin. This shot not only showcased McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with an Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where shooting under par gives you a chance at the title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s fourth hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for his second shot and aced the hole from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth time in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont that this rare feat had been achieved.
