2026 Golf Season: Major Events, Solheim Cup, and Key Tournaments

Majors, Solheim Cup, and four top events in German-speaking countries highlight the 2026 golf calendar.

The 2026 season promises golf fans a packed schedule. From the prestigious men’s and women’s Majors to the Solheim Cup and events in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, it offers a rich tournament calendar.

Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige, and Great Venues

The men’s Major season traditionally opens with the legendary Masters from April 9-12. After Rory McIlroy became the sixth player and first European to complete the career Grand Slam by winning the Masters in 2025, he returns in April as the defending champion at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA. Mid-May sees the PGA Championship held at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania, from May 4-17. The summer starts with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. In 2025, American J.J. Spaun clinched the title on home soil. The men’s Major season concludes with The Open from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. After Scottie Scheffler’s success at the PGA Championship, he secured his second Major title of the year at The Open.

Women’s Five Majors and Solheim Cup

The women’s golf season in 2026 is packed with highlights as well. It begins traditionally with the Chevron Championship in Texas from April 23-26. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place from June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. In 2025, Swedish player Maja Stark celebrated her first Major win and the first European title in 19 years at the US Women’s Open. Next is the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship from June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. July features the Amundi Evian Championship at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, from July 9-12, followed by the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.

A special highlight in 2026 is the Solheim Cup, the premier women’s team event held every two years. It will take place from September 11-13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Dutch player Anne Van Dam, alongside Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall, and Mel Reid, is already confirmed as part of Team Europe.

Four Tournaments in the German-Speaking Region

Fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can look forward to high-caliber tournaments. Those wanting to experience the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour up close have four chances in the region.

The DP World Tour features the Austrian Alpine Open from May 28-31 in Kitzbühel at Golfclub Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith. Another highlight follows from July 2-5 with the BMW International Open at Golfclub München Eichenried. Seventeen German-speaking players competed in the field in 2025.
