The 2026 season promises golf fans a packed calendar full of highlights. From the prestigious men’s and women’s Majors to the Solheim Cup and tournaments in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the year offers plenty to look forward to.

Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige, and Iconic Venues

The men’s Major season traditionally kicks off with the legendary Masters from April 9 to 12. After Rory McIlroy became the sixth player and first European ever to achieve a career Grand Slam by winning the Masters in 2025, he returns in April as the defending champion at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA. In mid-May, the PGA Championship takes place from May 4 to 17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. The summer starts with the U.S. Open from June 18 to 21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. In 2025, American J.J. Spaun claimed the title on home soil. The men’s Major season concludes with The Open from July 16 to 19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. After Scottie Scheffler’s success at the PGA Championship, he secured his second Major title of the year at The Open last season.

The Five Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup

The women’s golf calendar in 2026 features one highlight after another. It begins with the Chevron Championship in Texas from April 23 to 26. About six weeks later, from June 4 to 7, the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. In 2025, Sweden’s Maja Stark won her first Major and Europe’s first title at the U.S. Women’s Open in 19 years. Following that, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship happens from June 25 to 28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. In July, from July 9 to 12, the Amundi Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, precedes the season finale at the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.

A special highlight in 2026 is the Solheim Cup, the flagship women’s team event held biennially. It will be hosted from September 11 to 13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Among Team Europe’s confirmed players are Dutch star Anne Van Dam, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall, and Mel Reid.

Four Tournaments in the German-Speaking Region

Golf fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can look forward to several top-tier tournaments.
