2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Memorable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is winding down. We look back at the greatest highlight shots of the year and share unforgettable moments from 2025 – the year in review.

As the 2025 season comes to a close, it’s time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember from this year. Often, the individual shots leading to these successes are overlooked. Yet, these shots are often just as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year, once again, there were legendary shots that both players and fans will long remember.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters

Arguably the most legendary shot of the year happened on hole 15 at the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green before his second shot on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to a better position aiming for par, McIlroy took a full-risk, massive draw shot toward the green, landing the ball just inches from the pin. This shot showcased not only McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete his Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes US Open History with an Albatross

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where a sub-par round can already put a player in contention. Patrick Reed’s incredible shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open stunned fans and players alike. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross – only the fourth in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
