LIV Golf is expanding its field to 57 players for 2026, adding new qualification routes and wildcards.

Starting with the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success. This growth is made possible by additional wildcards and new qualification opportunities.

Field Increases to 57 Players in 2026

The LIV Golf League will launch the 2026 season with an expanded field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players. There will be 13 teams, each consisting of 4 players. Additionally, 5 wildcard players will participate independently of the teams but will receive guaranteed starting spots in all 13 regular season events.

New Qualification Opportunities

Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct starting spots for the 2026 season will be awarded, up from just two available through this qualification method in prior years.

LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Players

The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions is scheduled from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This event serves as the central qualification tournament and is played as a 72-hole stroke play with a unique tiered scoring system featuring multiple score resets, making the competition particularly dynamic.

On day one, the top 20 players and ties qualify for the second round. Scores are then reset. The field for day two is supplemented with automatically qualified players, with the top 20 and ties again advancing.

Before day three, scores reset again. A 36-hole scoring over days three and four determines final standings. The top three earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full entry to the 2026 International Series.
