2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to a close. We look back on the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique moments of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievements, and many other highlights, there’s much to recall from this year. Often, the individual shots leading to these successes are not what come to mind, yet they can be just as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year, there were again legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th Hole at the Masters

Probably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par 5. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure a par, McIlroy took a huge risk, hitting a massive draw towards the green and landing the ball just next to the pin. This shot showcased not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where scoring under par is a chance at the title. Patrick Reed’s incredible shot on the 4th hole at this year’s US Open was remarkable. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross – only the fourth in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
