With an expanded field of 57 players and new qualification routes plus wildcards, LIV Golf continues to grow in 2026.
Starting in the 2026 LIV Golf season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification options.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch in 2026 with a larger field. Previously smaller, the league will now feature 57 players. They will compete in 13 teams of four players each. The field is complemented by five wildcards who play independently from teams but have guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
In 2026, LIV Golf Promotions will grant three direct tour cards through qualification, an increase from two previously available. This provides more chances to earn spots in the LIV Golf League.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Stage for Up-and-Coming Talent
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This 72-hole stroke play event features a unique tiered system with multiple score resets to heighten competition dynamics.
On day one, the top 20 players and ties advance to day two. Scores reset before the second day, where automatically qualified players join the field, and again the top 20 and ties move on.
Scores reset once more before day three. The final standings are determined by a 36-hole aggregate over days three and four. The top three finishers earn spots in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full status for the 2026 International Series.
