The 2026 season offers golf fans a packed schedule, from prestigious men’s and women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup to notable tournaments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige and Iconic Venues
The men’s Major season kicks off with the legendary Masters from April 9-12 at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA. Rory McIlroy, who completed a career Grand Slam as the sixth player and first European ever by winning the Masters in 2025, will defend his title. The PGA Championship follows from May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. The summer continues with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, New York, where American J.J. Spaun claimed victory in 2025. The men’s Major season concludes traditionally with The Open from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Scottie Scheffler secured his second Major of the year at last season’s Open after winning the PGA Championship earlier.
Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup
The women’s Major season in 2026 features top events starting with the Chevron Championship from April 23-26 in Texas. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club in California, with 2025 champion Swedish Maja Stark celebrating Europe’s first win at this Major in 19 years. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is held from June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club, Minnesota, followed by the Amundi Evian Championship July 9-12 in Evian-les-Bains, France. The season concludes with the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, England. The Solheim Cup, women’s premier team event held biennially, will be hosted September 11-13 at Bernards Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Notable European team members include Netherlands’ Anne Van Dam, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall and Mel Reid.
Four Key Tournaments in the German-Speaking Region
Golf fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can enjoy four outstanding tournaments on the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour. The Austrian Alpine Open runs May 28-31 in Kitzbühel at Golfclub Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith. The BMW International Open follows July 2-5 at Golf Club München Eichenried, featuring 17 German-speaking players in 2025. The Amundi German Masters is held May 14-17 at the Green Eagle Golf Courses near Hamburg, promising excitement after five German top-20 finishes in 2025. The VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open takes place August 13-15 at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern, Switzerland.
