Key Golf Events to Watch in 2026: Majors, Solheim Cup and More

Majors, Solheim Cup and four top events in the German-speaking region: here are the key golf dates for 2026.

The 2026 season offers fans a wealth of golfing highlights. From the prestigious men’s and women’s Majors, the Solheim Cup, to events in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the tournament calendar is packed.

Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige and Great Venues

The men’s Major season traditionally kicks off from April 9-12 with the legendary Masters. After Rory McIlroy became the sixth player and the first European in 2025 to achieve a career slam by winning the Masters, he will defend his title at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA, in April. Mid-May features the PGA Championship from May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. Summer starts with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. In 2025, American J.J. Spaun secured the title on home soil. The men’s Major season concludes traditionally with The Open from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Following Scottie Scheffler’s win at the PGA Championships, he added his second Major title of the year at The Open last season.

Five Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup

The women’s golf scene in 2026 is equally packed with highlights. The season starts from April 23-26 with the Chevron Championship in Texas. Approximately six weeks later, from June 4-7, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. In 2025, Swedish player Maja Stark celebrated her first Major win and the first European victory in 19 years at the US Women’s Open. This is followed by the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship from June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. July will see the Amundi Evian Championship from July 9-12 at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, before the Major season closes with the AIG Women’s Open from July 30 to August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.
