The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back on the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique moments of 2025 – the year in review.
As the 2025 season draws to a close, it’s time to look back. With the European team’s Ryder Cup success, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to recall this year. Rarely do people think about the individual shots that led to these achievements, yet they are often as spectacular as the successes themselves. This year again, there were legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s 15th Hole at the Masters
Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would have used the shot to position themselves better and settle for par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot with a massive draw toward the green, landing it just next to the pin. This shot not only showcased McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where even a round under par gives you a chance to win. Patrick Reed’s incredible albatross on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was truly remarkable. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed the ball from 261 meters, marking only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
