One Last Start at the Masters

Few moments defined the German golf season of 2025 like Bernhard Langer’s last appearance at the Masters in Augusta. After 41 appearances, two Green Jackets, and countless rounds, the 67-year-old bid farewell to the place that made him famous. Spectators rose, applause accompanied him along every fairway. His farewell round did not end with a weekend cut, but an emotional goodbye on the 18th green. Langer, accompanied by his son Jason as caddie, said goodbye to a place that shaped him and was shaped by him.

Young Talents and New Champions on Tour

Contrary to expectations, Langer’s farewell to the Masters was not the end of his competitive story. Months later, at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open, he demonstrated he remains highly competitive, setting a new tournament record with 21 under par while winning on home soil. Shortly after, Alex Cejka celebrated his first title in two years at the SAS Championship in the USA, defending his lead and cementing a top 15 spot in the Schwab Cup rankings.

Meanwhile, the next generation stepped into the spotlight. Nicolai von Dellingshausen claimed his first major win at the Austrian Alpine Open on the DP World Tour with precise play and a timely eagle. Marcel Schneider joined him on the podium, and Marcel Siem delivered one of the tournament’s best final rounds in one of the most successful weekends for German golf on the European Tour with three Germans in the top five—a rare sight.

Laura Fünfstück won her first title after 115 starts at the PIF London Championship, overcoming an early deficit in the final with birdies on the back nine and sealing the victory with a birdie opportunity on 18. Olivia Cowan also contributed with a shared fourth place.

German Highlights Across Global Tours

At the BMW International Open, 20-year-old amateur Tim Wiedemeyer from Munich impressed with a 66 on Friday, finishing in the top 15 and showing that the German youth is on track. Dominic Foos celebrated his first tournament victory on the Asian Tour at the SJM Macao Open, showcasing consistency over all rounds in an international field.

Back on the big stage of the PGA Tour, Sepp Straka won the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club, securing his first signature event victory and second PGA Tour title of the season. His win lifted him to second place in the FedEx Cup and into the top 10 of the
