2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Unusual Shots of the Year

The 2025 season comes to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and recall the unique moments of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievements, and many other highlights, there is much to remember from this year. Rarely do we focus on the individual shots that led to these successes, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again saw legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s 15th Hole at the Masters

Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive veered slightly to the left, leaving the Northern Irishman with a tree between him and the hole for his second shot on the par-5. While most players would use the shot to safely improve their position aiming for par, McIlroy took full risk and struck an enormous draw towards the green, landing the ball just beside the flag. This shot not only showcased McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination in 2025 to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par gives a real chance at the title. Patrick Reed’s shot at the fourth hole this year was therefore extraordinary. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for the second shot and holed the ball from 261 meters for an albatross – only the fourth time in US Open history and the first time ever at Oakmont.
