LIV Golf Expands Field to 57 Players and Adds New Qualification Paths for 2026

LIV Golf grows in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players along with new qualification routes and wildcards.

From the 2026 season, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success in LIV Golf. This expansion is enabled by additional wildcards and qualification options.

Field Grows to 57 Players in 2026

The LIV Golf League will kick off the 2026 season with a larger field. Previously smaller, the league will now include 57 players. These players will be spread across 13 teams, each consisting of four players. The field will be complemented by 5 wildcard players who will compete independently from the teams but are guaranteed starts in all 13 regular season events.

New Qualification Opportunities

In 2026, three direct season starts will be awarded through LIV Golf Promotions, up from two in previous years, offering more players a chance to qualify through this format.

LIV Golf Promotions 2026: A Platform for Rising Talents

The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This 72-hole stroke play event serves as the main qualifier and features a unique tiered scoring system with multiple score resets, making the competition especially dynamic.

On day one, the top 20 players and ties qualify for day two, after which scores are reset. Day two includes automatically qualified players, and again the top 20 and ties advance. Another score reset occurs before day three. A 36-hole scoring over days three and four then determines final rankings. The top three players earn a place in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full memberships for the International Series 2026.
