2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Bizarre Shots of the Year

The 2025 golf season is ending. We look back at the year’s biggest highlight shots and relive memorable moments – the year in review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to look back. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to remember from this year. Rarely do we focus on the individual shots that led to these successes, yet the shots are often just as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at Hole 15 of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on this par 5. While many would have played it safe to secure a par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting an enormous draw that landed just beside the flag. This shot demonstrated not only his skill but his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where shooting under par in a round gives you a chance to win the title. Patrick Reed’s incredible shot on the par-5 fourth hole at this year’s US Open took this to a new level. Using his fairway wood for his second shot from 261 meters, Reed aced the hole for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
