LIV Golf continues to grow in 2026 with an expanded field of 57 players, new qualification paths, and wildcards.
From the 2026 LIV Golf season onwards, 57 players will compete for points, victories, and team success, enabled by additional wildcards and qualification opportunities.
Field Expands to 57 Players in 2026
The LIV Golf League will launch its 2026 season with a larger field. The league will now include 57 players, up from a smaller number previously. These players will compete in 13 teams, each consisting of four players. The field is also supplemented by five wildcards, who play independently of teams but have guaranteed starts at all 13 regular season events.
New Qualification Opportunities
Through LIV Golf Promotions, three direct tour cards will be awarded for the 2026 season, an increase from the previous two available through this qualification format.
LIV Golf Promotions 2026: Platform for Rising Stars
The third edition of LIV Golf Promotions will take place from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This central qualifying event is played over 72 holes in stroke play format and features a unique stage system with multiple score resets, creating a dynamic competition.
On the first day, the top 20 players and ties advance to round two, after which scores are reset. The field for day two is augmented by automatically qualified players, with the top 20 and ties progressing again.
Before day three, scores reset once more. A 36-hole total score over days three and four will determine final placements. The top three players earn a spot in the LIV Golf League, while the top ten secure full status for the 2026 International Series.
