The second season of TGL tees off with a familiar showdown. On December 28, Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club face off once again in the SoFi Center, reprising the final matchup from the inaugural season. Atlanta emerged victorious in both final matches by a single point and enters the new campaign as reigning champions. Before the first tee shot, the championship banner will be raised to the rafters, followed by the match in the familiar format featuring Triples and Singles segments. Both teams begin with three Hammers, and Atlanta opens play on the first hole. The lineups feature well-known names: Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele for New York; Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel for Atlanta.
Atlanta Drive GC Leans on Proven Strengths
Atlanta Drive GC enters the new TGL season with strong metrics from last year. The team excelled in Singles play, scoring the most Hammer points league-wide. Billy Horschel led the league in Singles points won, Patrick Cantlay remained undefeated in Singles matches against New York, and Lucas Glover impressed with flawless fairway accuracy. New York Golf Club rebounded from an 0–2 start to reach the playoffs, with Cameron Young leading all players in total points and showcasing his power off the tee.
New Course Features and Strategic Options
The TGL has introduced several technical updates for Season 2. The GreenZone has been significantly expanded, offering more pin positions and varied putting lines. Beneath the turf, new actuators enable dynamic contour changes, enhancing tactical possibilities. The course layout has also been refreshed, with new holes like Stone & Steeple, Stinger, and Cenote making their debut. Team-themed holes such as Fore-0-Fore for Atlanta and Big Apple for New York add a personalized touch. A total of 15 specially designed holes will be played.
