Bernhard Langer vividly remembers his first appearance at the PNC Championship. His son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly in the spotlight among golf’s elite. “We had a blast,” Langer recalls. “Back then, he had to compete against pro teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a great time.” That event marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I got invited.”
