Koepka’s ban, Pereira’s retirement, McIlroy’s club tally, Müller’s swing tips, and a Scheffler family Slam.
Scottie Scheffler is just one title away from completing the career Grand Slam. After winning the Masters, PGA Championship, and Open Championship, the only missing piece is the U.S. Open. With the 126th edition set for Shinnecock Hills in six months, bookmakers already have the world No. 1 as the heavy favorite for all four majors in 2026. His dominance on the PGA Tour makes it likely he’ll soon join the elite club of Grand Slam winners: McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, Player, Hogan, and Sarazen.
But while Scottie’s Slam seems inevitable, Golf Digest took a humorous detour: what about Bennett Scheffler? The toddler, who turns two in May, has already witnessed two major wins in person. With his parents bringing him along to tournaments, fans joke he’s halfway to a “spectator Grand Slam.” Since Meredith Scheffler was pregnant during the 2024 Masters, Bennett missed that one. But with Scottie favored again in 2026, the odds look good for young Bennett to complete his own version of the Slam.
Koepka Eyes PGA Tour Return, Pereira Retires
Brooks Koepka could be back on the PGA Tour by August 2026, once his one-year suspension following his last LIV Golf appearance expires—provided he reapplies for membership. The five-time major winner hasn’t confirmed his plans yet. Meanwhile, Mito Pereira has announced his retirement from professional golf. The 30-year-old Chilean, part of LIV’s Torque GC, is stepping away to focus on family life back home in South America.
Elsewhere in LIV, Sergio Garcia has extended his contract for several years and added Luis Masaveu to his all-Spanish Fireballs GC team, which also includes Jose Ballester and David Puig.
McIlroy’s 18 Club Memberships
Rory McIlroy’s global appeal extends beyond fans to golf clubs. The Northern Irishman holds an impressive 18 club memberships, including his home club Holywood GC, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and the ultra-exclusive Seminole GC—where he also covers the membership for his father Gerry.
