Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf after four seasons

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.

The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion joined the league in 2022 and quickly became one of its most prominent figures. With five wins, a captaincy at Smash GC, and numerous high-profile appearances, Koepka’s time with LIV Golf has come to an early end.

The decision was mutual, according to both parties. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they had agreed to part ways after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, particularly his wife Jena and their son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league leadership, his teammates, and fans.

New roles and open questions

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making this an early departure. The move prompted a quick reshuffle within his team. Talor Gooch will now take over as captain of Smash GC, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.

Koepka becomes the first Major winner to leave the league since its inception. His future path is somewhat clear but lacks specific announcements. Following his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period applies for the PGA Tour. However, he remains eligible to play on the DP World Tour and is qualified for all four Major tournaments. No concrete tournament plans have been shared yet, leaving fans to wonder when and where he will return to regular competition.
