Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka Exit and LIV Golf Future Talks

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts negotiations.

Brooks Koepka’s surprising exit from the LIV Golf League caught many off guard — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my December 23rd bingo card,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant shift in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: LIV contract extension on the table

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but talks for an early extension are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides are open to continuing — as long as it’s a mutually beneficial arrangement. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s growth, structure, and long-term vision are key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A LIV Golf success story

While other teams face uncertainty, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic growth plan. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his team is on a sustainable path — and that success strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour return? Only with clear rules

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we play by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While his focus remains on LIV Golf, DeChambeau hints at broader ambitions: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me too.”
