Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf after four seasons

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.

The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion joined the league in 2022 and quickly became one of its most prominent figures. With five individual wins, a captaincy at Smash GC, and numerous high-profile appearances, Koepka’s time with LIV Golf was impactful — but ends earlier than expected.

Brooks Koepka says goodbye to LIV Golf

According to both parties, the decision was mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to part ways after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league leadership, fellow players, and fans.

New roles and open questions

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making his exit a year early. This prompted a quick restructuring within his team. Talor Gooch will now take over as captain of Smash GC, with Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell supporting. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.

Koepka becomes the first Major winner to leave the league since its inception. While his future path is somewhat outlined, no specific announcements have been made. After his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period for the PGA Tour will apply. However, he remains eligible to compete on the DP World Tour and is qualified for all four Major championships. Koepka has yet to reveal when and where he will next compete regularly.
