TGL kicks off Season Two – Tiger Woods joins as mic’d-up host

New holes, bigger green, more cameras and team signature holes: ‘We’re playing a high-tech video game,’ says Billy Horschel.

It’s game day: The Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) launches its second season today at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The season runs through March 3 and opens with a rematch of last year’s final, where Atlanta Drive edged out New York on the final hole to claim the inaugural indoor title.

Tiger Woods mic’d up for Jupiter Links GC

The six teams remain unchanged, but stars Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas will sit out early matches due to ongoing rehab from back surgeries. Woods, however, has promised to attend every match for his Jupiter Links GC team starting January 13 — mic’d up and ready to commentate. The 15-time major champion’s presence is expected to boost entertainment value, both for teammates and fans, as TGL leans heavily into its media appeal.

Tech upgrades and signature holes

Season Two introduces major technical upgrades. The putting green has grown by 38 percent to nearly 500 square meters, now offering 12 pin positions. Over 600 actuators simulate realistic slopes and breaks. Wyndham Clark of The Bay notes, “The green is easier to read now — great for everyone, but especially for elite putters.”

Artificial turf fibers now align toward the center, ensuring every chip goes with the grain. “That makes shots more exciting for viewers,” says Clark. “We can do anything with the ball.”

Six new signature holes were designed by top architects including Gil Hanse, Nicklaus Design, and Pizá Golf. Highlights include The Bay’s ‘Bay Breaker’ with redwoods and San Francisco skyline, and New York’s ‘Big Apple’ hole featuring Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Atlanta’s ‘Fore-O-Fore’ showcases the city’s skyline silhouette.

Virtual Eye and SmartPin Cam return

The SoFi Center now features 79 cameras and an enhanced Virtual Eye system for better ball tracking and shot comparisons. TGL also brings back its award-winning SmartPin Cam, offering 360-degree live views from the flagstick’s perspective. As Billy Horschel puts it, “We’ve got holes like on a real course — and some straight out of a video game. We’re playing a high-tech video game.”
