Bernhard Langer vividly recalls his first appearance at the PNC Championship. At the time, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among golfing greats. “We had a blast,” Langer says today. “Back then, he had to compete against professional teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, but the experience. “It was just a great time.” That debut marked the beginning of a cherished tradition. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”

Among Major winners and legends

The PNC Championship brings together players who have made golf history. For Bernhard Langer, that’s part of the magic. “Being out there with other Major champions and legends of the game is something special,” he says. But it’s not about trophies or prestige—it’s about sharing the game with family. “It’s one of my favorite tournaments.” Great careers meet budding swings, with Langer in the middle—as a father and a competitor.

A holiday tradition

The December date makes the tournament special for many players—including Bernhard Langer. “It’s a wonderful time of year, right before Christmas, when families come together. It feels like a family reunion.” While the PGA Tour and other circuits take a winter break, this
