TGL kicks off Season Two – Tiger Woods takes the mic

New holes, bigger green, more cameras and team signature holes: ‘We’re playing a high-tech video game,’ says Billy Horschel.

It’s game day: The Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) returns for its second season at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, running through March 3. The season opener features a rematch of the inaugural final, with Atlanta Drive facing New York in a high-tech indoor golf showdown.

Tiger Woods joins the action—mic’d up

The six teams remain unchanged, but stars like Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas are sidelined due to back surgeries. Woods, a TGL co-owner, has promised to be present at every Jupiter Links GC match starting January 13, equipped with a microphone. While not swinging clubs, the 15-time major champion is expected to entertain with commentary and team support.

Tech upgrades and signature holes

The TGL arena has seen major upgrades. The putting green has expanded by 38% to nearly 500 square meters, now offering 12 pin positions. Over 600 actuators simulate slopes and breaks, making the green easier to read—advantageous for elite putters. The artificial turf fibers now point inward, allowing players to chip with the grain, enhancing shot creativity and viewer excitement.

Each team now has its own signature hole, designed by top architects like Gil Hanse and Nicklaus Design. The Bay’s ‘Bay Breaker’ features redwoods and San Francisco fog, while New York’s ‘Big Apple’ showcases the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty. Atlanta’s ‘Fore-O-Fore’ highlights the city’s silhouette, and Gil Hanse’s ‘Stone & Steeple’ includes a church and graveyard—a reminder that errant shots have short lives.

More cameras, better visuals

The SoFi Center now boasts 79 cameras, including the award-winning SmartPin Cam offering live 360-degree views from the flagstick. Enhanced Virtual-Eye tech improves shot tracking and comparisons. With Tiger’s presence and immersive visuals, TGL aims to elevate golf entertainment. Let the games begin.
