Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract talks and how Koepka’s departure impacts the league.
Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many—including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant shift in the league’s short history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.
Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Extension Possible, But Not Guaranteed
DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized mutual interest—provided both sides benefit. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and future outlook are key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve.”
Crushers GC: A Model of Stability in LIV Golf
While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and strategic growth. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III returning for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his team is on the right path—strengthening his position in talks with LIV Golf.
On PGA Tour Return: Clear Rules or Nothing
Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau remains cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is open to broader ventures: “I could do YouTube golf—that would be enough for me.”
