TGL kicks off Season Two – Tiger Woods takes the mic

New holes, bigger greens, more cameras and team signature holes: ‘We’re playing a high-tech video game,’ says Billy Horschel.

It’s game time: The Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) launches its second season today at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The season runs through March 3 and kicks off with a rematch of the inaugural final, where Atlanta Drive edged out New York on the final hole to claim the first-ever TGL title.

Tiger Woods joins as mic’d-up team leader

While the six teams remain unchanged, superstar and TGL co-owner Tiger Woods, along with Atlanta’s Justin Thomas, will sit out for now due to back surgery recovery. However, Woods has promised to be present at every Jupiter Links GC match starting January 13, equipped with a microphone. Expect the 15-time Major champion to chime in with commentary—adding entertainment value and insight as he supports his team from the sidelines.

Upgraded tech and gameplay experience

This season brings major upgrades: the putting green has expanded by 38% to nearly 500 square meters, now featuring 12 pin positions (up from seven). Over 600 actuators simulate slopes and breaks, making the green easier to read—benefiting elite putters like Wyndham Clark. The artificial turf has also been reoriented to favor chips with the grain, enhancing shot creativity and viewer excitement.

Signature Holes and immersive visuals

Each team now has a Signature Hole designed by top architects like Gil Hanse and Nicklaus Design. Highlights include ‘Bay Breaker’ for The Bay GC, with redwoods and San Francisco skyline, and ‘Big Apple’ for New York GC, set against Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Atlanta’s ‘Fore-O-Fore’ showcases the city’s silhouette, while Gil Hanse’s ‘Stone & Steeple’ features a church and cemetery—punishing errant shots with symbolic finality.

Technological enhancements include 79 cameras and the award-winning SmartPin Cam, offering 360-degree live views from the flagstick. With entertainment and social media engagement at its core, TGL is pushing the boundaries of virtual golf. Let the games begin.
