Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf after four seasons

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.

The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion joined the league in 2022 and quickly became one of its most prominent figures. During his time with LIV Golf, Koepka notched five wins, served as captain of Smash GC, and made numerous high-profile appearances. His departure comes earlier than originally planned.

Koepka exits LIV Golf League ahead of schedule

The decision was reportedly mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that both parties agreed to end the partnership after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, particularly his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league’s leadership, his teammates, and fans.

New roles and open questions

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making this an early exit. His departure has prompted a reshuffle within Smash GC, where Talor Gooch will take over as captain, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.

Koepka becomes the first Major champion to leave the league since its inception. While his future plans remain vague, he is subject to a suspension period before returning to the PGA Tour following his final LIV appearance in August 2025. He remains eligible for the DP World Tour and all four Majors. However, he has yet to announce when or where he will compete next.
