After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.
The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion had been a key figure in the league since 2022, securing five wins, leading Smash GC as captain, and making numerous appearances on the big stage. His time with LIV Golf ends earlier than originally expected.
Brooks Koepka departs LIV Golf League early
The decision was mutual, according to both parties. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to part ways after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league leadership, his teammates, and fans.

Leadership changes and future plans
Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making this an early exit. His departure prompted a quick restructuring within Smash GC. Talor Gooch will now take over as team captain, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.
Koepka becomes the first Major champion to leave the league since its inception. His future path is somewhat outlined, though no specific announcements have been made. Following his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, he will be subject to a suspension period for the PGA Tour. However, he remains eligible for the DP World Tour and all four Major championships. Koepka has yet to reveal when and where he will compete regularly again.
