After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.
The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion had been a fixture in the league since 2022 and was one of its most high-profile players during its early years. With five wins, a captaincy at Smash GC, and numerous appearances on the big stage, Koepka’s time with LIV Golf leaves a lasting mark—though it ends earlier than originally planned.
Koepka exits LIV Golf ahead of schedule
According to both parties, the decision was mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to part ways after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his wife Jena and their son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league’s leadership, his teammates, and fans.

Team changes and future plans
Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, meaning his departure comes a year early. As a result, his team Smash GC had to make quick adjustments. Talor Gooch will take over the captaincy, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.
Koepka becomes the first Major winner to leave the league since its inception. His path forward is somewhat clear, though no specific announcements have been made. After his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period for the PGA Tour will take effect. He remains eligible to compete on the DP World Tour and is qualified for all four Major championships. However, Koepka has yet to reveal when and where he plans to return to regular competition.
