Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a stunning chip-in eagle to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South African Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, held at La Réserve Golf Links. Just a week after his win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Schaper once again triumphed in a playoff—this time against American Ryan Gerard—securing his second consecutive title to close out the 2025 season.
Schaper started strong with two birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained momentum on the back nine, adding four more birdies to card a stellar 64 (-8). Gerard also impressed, going bogey-free with six birdies for a final-round 66 (-6), matching Schaper at 22-under-par.
The playoff was decided in dramatic fashion. On the second extra hole, Schaper chipped in for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The spectacular finish earned Schaper his second straight win, both coming in playoffs.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for more’
Speaking after his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his back-to-back victories: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say—it’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for more. Christmas will be great this year, and so will the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis finished solo third. Despite a solid week, his final round included three bogeys and four birdies, resulting in a 71.
Mixed results for German players on final day
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider, after a steady front nine, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, finishing with a 78 and tied for 37th at -4. Siem also shot +4 (76), with three birdies offset by two bogeys and three double bogeys, ending at the same position.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day and finished tied for 48th at -1 overall.
