Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a dramatic chip-in eagle to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
Jayden Schaper continued his winning streak on the DP World Tour by capturing the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in spectacular fashion. The South African triumphed in a playoff for the second consecutive week, this time edging out American Ryan Gerard with a stunning chip-in eagle on the second extra hole at La Réserve Golf Links.
Schaper, 24, opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, followed by four more birdies on the back nine to card a sizzling 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring four birdies on the front and two more on the back. Both players finished at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff to decide the champion.
On the second playoff hole, Schaper delivered a moment of magic, holing out from off the green for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The victory marks Schaper’s second straight DP World Tour title, having also won the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week—both in playoffs.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his incredible run: ‘The last three weeks have been unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the new year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place after a final-round 71 that included four birdies and three bogeys. Jarvis had been a consistent presence near the top of the leaderboard throughout the week.
Mixed results for German players on final day
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider both struggled in the final round. Schneider, who had been steady early on, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem matched that total after a 76 that included three birdies, two bogeys, and three double bogeys.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, posted an even-par round on Sunday to finish T48 at -1 overall.
