Jayden Schaper wins again in playoff at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open

Jayden Schaper clinches his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the Mauritius Open.

Jayden Schaper continued his sensational run on the DP World Tour by winning the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in spectacular fashion. The South African triumphed for the second week in a row, once again prevailing in a playoff—this time with a stunning chip-in eagle on the second extra hole to defeat American Ryan Gerard.

Held at La Réserve Golf Links on the picturesque island of Mauritius, the final event of the DP World Tour season saw Schaper deliver a flawless performance. He carded a brilliant 64 (-8) in the final round, highlighted by an eagle on the 5th hole and six birdies. Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring four birdies on the front nine and two more on the back.

Both players finished at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff. On the second playoff hole, Schaper sealed the win with a dramatic chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second consecutive playoff victory following his win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week.

Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his back-to-back triumphs: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year and so will the New Year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place after a steady performance throughout the week. His final round of 71 included four birdies and three bogeys, leaving him just short of the playoff.

Mixed results for German players on final day

German golfers Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider began solidly but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem also had a tough day, posting a 76 (+4) with three birdies offset by two bogeys and three double bogeys, also ending T37.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round to finish T48 at -1 overall.
