Starting January 2026, Magenta TV will broadcast PGA, DP World, and Champions Tour events. Majors remain with Sky.
Golf fans in Germany will have a new home for live coverage starting in 2026. Telekom has secured broadcasting rights for the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Champions Tour through its Magenta TV platform. The agreement runs until the end of 2029 and includes 131 tournaments in the first year alone. Additionally, Magenta TV will air the Ryder Cup in 2027 and 2029. However, Sky retains the rights to all men’s and women’s major championships.
300 Days of Live Golf on Magenta TV
The new rights package includes approximately 300 days of live golf annually, spread across two new dedicated channels: MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2, launching in January 2026. MS Golf 1 will broadcast all tournaments in full, while MS Golf 2 will feature supplementary content such as player features, current stories, and historical highlights. On-demand content will also be available. Coverage kicks off on January 15 with the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Dubai Invitational. The service will be included at no extra cost for all Magenta TV subscribers, as well as MagentaSport customers.
“Golf has a new home on MagentaTV. With this package, we offer Germany’s most comprehensive live golf coverage ever. From the first tee shots to the final putts, we’ll show every tournament like never before—live, informative, and with modern storytelling,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Telekom.
Sky Retains Major Championships
Despite losing a large portion of golf coverage, Sky will continue to broadcast all major championships in the coming years. This includes the biggest events in men’s and women’s golf, such as the Solheim Cup and all five women’s majors. As a result, fans wanting full coverage of the golf season will need subscriptions to both Magenta TV and Sky.
