Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem impressed on Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, entering the final round in strong positions.

At the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, both Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong performances on Saturday to position themselves well for the final round. Schneider carded a six-under-par 66 to move up to T9, while Siem shot a 68 to sit at T14. South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard lead the field at 16 under par, with Gerard firing a standout 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late

Marcel Schneider played a nearly flawless round to break into the top 10. After his first birdie on hole 4, he followed up with two more on holes 5 and 6. A fourth birdie came on hole 8, before his only bogey of the day on the 9th—his third consecutive bogey on that hole this week. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on the back nine (holes 12, 13, and 14) to finish with a 66 and move to T9.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with a lone birdie on hole 3. After a bogey on hole 10, he caught fire with four straight birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite a second bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to finish with a 68. At T14, Siem remains in contention for a strong finish.

Ryan Gerard surges to the top with birdie streak

Ryan Gerard produced the round of the day with a nine-under-par 63. After an early bogey on hole 2, he rebounded with birdies on holes 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go three under at the turn. He then caught fire on the back nine, reeling off five consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 16. A final birdie on 18 capped off a stellar round, placing him in a tie for the lead at 16 under par.
