Bernhard Langer and his son Jason played well at the PNC Championship but missed the podium as defending champions.
The PNC Championship, held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Orlando, Florida, marked the season finale of the 2025 PGA Champions Tour. Played in a two-day scramble format, the family team event saw Team Kuchar emerge victorious ahead of Team Love and Team Daly. Bernhard Langer and his son Jason finished tied for seventh, while fan favorite John Daly and son John II tied for second.
Team Kuchar dominates the field
Matt Kuchar, a 2016 Ryder Cup winner and multiple Presidents Cup champion, teamed up with his son Cameron to deliver a stellar performance. On Saturday, they posted a flawless round with 15 birdies, setting the tone early. On Sunday, they added 14 birdies and two eagles to finish at 33-under-par, comfortably securing the win.
Trailing behind were Team Daly and Team Love, both finishing at 26-under-par. John Daly and his son John II impressed with back-to-back rounds of 59, each featuring nine birdies and two eagles. Davis Love III, the 1997 PGA Champion, and his son Dru opened with a 60 and followed up with a bogey-free round of 14 birdies on Sunday.
Nelly Korda shines with top-5 finish
Steven Stricker, former Ryder Cup captain, played alongside his daughter Izzi, tying for fourth place at 25-under-par with Team Korda. Nelly Korda, a two-time major champion and Olympic gold medalist, was the only LPGA Tour player in the field. She and her father Petr opened with a 60 and improved to a 59 on Sunday.
Defending champions Langer & son fall short
Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer and his son Jason couldn’t replicate last year’s success. They started with a bogey-free 61 and improved to a 60 on Sunday, finishing at 23-under-par and tied for seventh place.
