Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a tense playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans miss the cut after round four.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) took place across four courses at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand. A total of 35 players earned their Asian Tour cards, including German golfer Marc Hammer. After five intense days, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard, leading the qualification list for the Asian Tour Q-School. The left-hander impressed with a final-round 67 (-4), continuing his strong form from earlier rounds (68–67–70–67). At 16-under-par overall, the 25-year-old clinched the top spot and his Asian Tour card.
Milestone moment for Lin Yuxin
Yuxin’s victory marks a significant milestone in the career of the highly regarded golfer. He won the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in 2017 and 2019 and played college golf at the University of Florida. Since turning professional in 2023, he has competed on the PGA Tour Americas and selected Korn Ferry Tour events. Putting issues—mostly mental, according to Yuxin—had held him back. “I played well all season but struggled with the putter, especially during the summer,” he said. “I worked hard on it in October and November, and my game has felt good for a while now.” He added, “It’s been tough, with a lot of ups and downs. Honestly, I just had to be patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro—it’s been a valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, delivering consistent rounds of 70–67–65–66 before stumbling with a 72 on the final day, including four bogeys. He finished second at 15-under-par. Canadian Henry Lee secured third place at 14-under-par.
Marc Hammer clinches Asian Tour ticket in playoff
The battle for the final tour cards came down to a dramatic playoff. Twelve players tied at five-under-par for 28th place competed for the remaining eight spots. The playoff extended over five holes, with eight players ultimately earning their Asian Tour cards. Among them was Germany’s Marc Hammer from Sandhausen, Baden-Württemberg. The 27-year-old delivered a steady performance throughout the tournament, finishing with a 70 (-2) on the final day. His overall scores (71–67–72–70) were enough to secure his place on the Asian Tour. Hammer has prior experience on the DP World Tour, where he posted three top-10 finishes last season.
Other German participants at the Asian Tour Q-School failed to make the cut after the fourth round. Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118) all missed out on qualification.
