Jayden Schaper wins back-to-back titles on DP World Tour

Jayden Schaper claims his second straight DP World Tour title with a dramatic playoff eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling finish to secure his second consecutive DP World Tour victory, winning the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in a playoff against American Ryan Gerard. The South African triumphed at La Réserve Golf Links with a spectacular chip-in eagle on the second playoff hole, echoing his playoff win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship just a week earlier.

Schaper started strong with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, followed by four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), highlighted by six birdies, which brought both players to a 22-under-par total and forced a playoff.

In the playoff, Schaper showed nerves of steel. While Gerard could only manage par, Schaper sealed the win in style with a chip-in eagle, marking his second straight playoff victory and closing out the 2025 season on a high note.

Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Speaking after his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his recent success: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t even know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the New Year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis claimed solo third after a steady week. His final round of 71 included four birdies and three bogeys, leaving him just short of the leaders.

Mixed results for German players on final day

German duo Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider, who began steadily with just one bogey on the front nine, faltered on the back nine with three more bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also endured a tough day, offsetting three birdies with two bogeys and three double bogeys for a 76, ending alongside Schneider.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, posted an even-par round on Sunday to finish T48 at one-under-par overall.
