Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans miss the cut after round four.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, saw 35 players earn their cards for the 2025 season. Among them was Germany’s Marc Hammer, who clinched his spot after a dramatic five-hole playoff. Leading the field was China’s Lin Yuxin, who topped the leaderboard with a total of 16-under-par after five rounds.
Lin Yuxin tops Asian Tour Q-School
Left-hander Lin Yuxin delivered a final-round 67 (-4) to cap off a consistent week (68–67–70–67–67), finishing one shot ahead of India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya. The 25-year-old’s victory marks a major milestone in his professional career. A two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur champion (2017, 2019), Yuxin played college golf at the University of Florida before turning pro in 2023. He has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and select Korn Ferry Tour events. Reflecting on his recent form, Yuxin said, “I’ve played well all season, but struggled with putting, especially in the summer. I worked hard on it in October and November, and now my game feels solid again.”
Bhattacharya, who had posted rounds of 70–67–65–66, stumbled on the final day with a 72 (+1), finishing at 15-under-par. Canada’s Henry Lee rounded out the top three at 14-under.
Marc Hammer prevails in playoff to earn tour card
The battle for the final Asian Tour cards came down to a tense playoff involving 12 players tied at five-under-par for 28th place. Only eight cards remained, and after five playoff holes, Marc Hammer emerged among the successful contenders. The 27-year-old from Sandhausen, Germany, posted rounds of 71–67–72–70–70, showing steady form throughout the week. Hammer, who previously played on the DP World Tour and recorded three top-10 finishes last season, now adds the Asian Tour to his resume.
Other German participants, including Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118), failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
