Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South African Jayden Schaper continued his red-hot form by winning the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, held at La Réserve Golf Links. Just a week after his playoff victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Schaper once again triumphed in extra holes—this time with a spectacular chip-in eagle to edge out American Ryan Gerard in the final event of the 2025 DP World Tour season.
Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, followed by four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on throughout the day, delivering a bogey-free 66 (-6) with six birdies, bringing both players to a 22-under-par total and forcing a playoff.
On the second playoff hole, Schaper sealed the win in style by holing out for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The 24-year-old celebrated his second consecutive DP World Tour victory, both coming via playoffs, to cap off a memorable end to his 2025 season.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his remarkable run: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like this. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so will the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place after a steady week. Despite three bogeys in his final round, he managed four birdies to finish with a 71.
Mixed results for German players on final day
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider started solidly but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also had a tough day, carding a 76 (+4) with three birdies offset by two bogeys and three double bogeys, also ending at T37.
Nick Bachem, the only other German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day and finished T48 at one-under-par.
