Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a five-hole playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans miss the cut.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, concluded with 35 players earning their Asian Tour cards. Among them was German golfer Marc Hammer, who clinched his spot after a dramatic playoff. Leading the field was China’s Lin Yuxin, who topped the leaderboard after five intense days of competition.
Lin Yuxin dominates Asian Tour Q-School
Left-hander Lin Yuxin delivered a final-round 67 (-4), continuing his impressive form from previous rounds (68–67–70–67) to finish at 16-under-par. The 25-year-old’s victory marks a major milestone in his professional career. A two-time winner of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (2017, 2019), Yuxin played college golf at the University of Florida and turned professional in 2023. He has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and select Korn Ferry Tour events. Reflecting on his putting struggles, which he described as mostly mental, Yuxin said: “I played well all season but had issues with the putter, especially in summer. I worked hard on it in October and November, and now my game feels solid again.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, finishing second at 15-under-par after rounds of 70–67–65–66, though a final-round 72 with four bogeys cost him the top spot. Canadian Henry Lee secured third place at 14-under-par.
Marc Hammer prevails in playoff to earn tour card
The battle for the final tour cards was fierce, with twelve players tied at five-under-par for 28th place, forcing a playoff to determine the last eight spots. The playoff extended over five holes, with Marc Hammer among the successful qualifiers. The 27-year-old from Sandhausen, Germany, posted rounds of 71–67–72–70, finishing with a final-round 70 (-2). His consistent performance earned him one of the coveted Asian Tour cards. Hammer, who has previous experience on the DP World Tour and three top-10 finishes last season, now looks forward to competing in Asia.
Other German participants, including Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118), failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
