James Morrison wins Rolex Grand Final, Steinlechner earns DPWT card

James Morrison clinches the Rolex Grand Final in Mallorca as Maximilian Steinlechner secures promotion to the DP World Tour.

The HotelPlanner Tour concluded with the Rolex Grand Final at Club de Golf Alcanada in Port d’Alcúdia, Mallorca, where the top 20 players on the Road to Mallorca ranking earned their DP World Tour cards for the upcoming season. Austria’s Lukas Nemecz and Germany’s Anton Albers narrowly missed out, while 25-year-old Austrian Maximilian Steinlechner secured his spot among Europe’s elite.

England’s James Morrison confirmed his dominance on the final day, finishing with a 2-under-par round. With five birdies and three eagles, Morrison overcame a few Sunday struggles to top the leaderboard. His victory at the Rolex Grand Final propelled him 30 spots up the Road to Mallorca ranking, earning him a DP World Tour card. Italy’s Stefano Mazzoli followed closely, finishing second at 12-under-par after a final-round 69, securing his promotion as well.

Sweden’s Albin Bergström made one of the biggest moves of the week. Starting the event ranked 40th, he finished tied for third at 11-under-par and climbed to 20th in the final standings, just enough to earn a DP World Tour card.

Steinlechner secures DP World Tour card despite struggles

Maximilian Steinlechner had a rollercoaster week in Mallorca. After opening with a strong 67, he shot even par on Friday. Saturday proved challenging, with a disastrous eight-over-par on the eighth hole leading to a 77. The final round saw more trouble on hole 8 with a double bogey, but three birdies on the back nine helped him post a 73. Despite finishing T31 on the leaderboard, Steinlechner ended the season ranked third on the Road to Mallorca and will join the DP World Tour next season.

Albers and Nemecz fall short of promotion

German Anton Albers and Austrian Lukas Nemecz both missed out on DP World Tour qualification. Albers finished T27 after a final-round 70, ending the season ranked 25th. Nemecz closed with an even-par round to finish T34 at three-under-par overall, placing 22nd in the season standings—just outside the top 20 cutoff.
