LIV Golf increases access to its 2026 League with more spots via the International Series and a revamped Promotions event.
LIV Golf has announced its qualification pathways for the 2026 season. According to a recent press release, players can earn a spot in the LIV Golf League through two main routes: the LIV Golf Promotions tournament and the International Series.
International Series Offers More Spots
The International Series, sanctioned by the Asian Tour, remains a key gateway to the LIV Golf League. Starting in 2026, the top two players in the 2025 International Series Order of Merit—who are not already part of LIV—will receive full-season status in the league.
The 2025 series includes events in India, Macau, Japan, Morocco, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong. As of now, Scott Vincent (Zimbabwe) and Miguel Tabuena (Philippines) lead the standings. The final two events will take place in Singapore (November 6–9) and Saudi Arabia (November 19–22).
“As fan interest in LIV Golf continues to grow and the opportunity to compete against some of the biggest names in golf expands across the U.S., Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, it’s only natural to open more doors for ambitious, talented players,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. Previously, only one spot was awarded through the International Series.
LIV Golf Promotions Returns to Florida
In addition to the International Series, the LIV Golf Promotions tournament offers another route into the league. The third edition of the event will be held January 8–11, 2026, at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida.
The four-round stroke-play tournament will grant full-season status to the top two finishers, doubling the number of available spots compared to 2025. The top ten players (including ties) will also qualify for the 2026 International Series. The total prize purse is $1.5 million, with $200,000 and $150,000 awarded to the first and second place finishers, respectively.
The format includes progressive cuts and score resets. On Thursday, the top 20 and ties from Round 1 advance to Friday’s Round 2, where they are joined by players with automatic entry. The top 20 and ties from Round 2 move on to a 36-hole shootout over the weekend, culminating on Sunday.
The competition is open to top professionals and amateurs worldwide. Players can qualify through various categories.
Category A (Round 1): Includes participants from elite amateur events (e.g., Walker Cup, Palmer Cup), top-ranked players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, International Series, Data Golf Rankings, and regional tours.
Category B (Round 2): Features players with automatic entry, such as winners of major amateur events, leading players from global pro tours, recent Major champions, Ryder and Presidents Cup participants, and LIV players without a 2026 contract.
